Sandhya Banerjee - Staff Governor

I moved to the UK in 1997. After being a full-time mum for many years, I joined SJS in December, 2014. A few years later, my kids joined university so, I pursued and completed my PGCE qualification from Winchester University.

In January 2020, I joined the school’s teaching team. Currently, I am the Year 4 Leader besides being responsible for History and Pupil Voice since September 2025.

Since January 2024, I have been a member of the SJS Governing Body as a staff governor. In the past, I have served as a Parent Governor on the governing body of my children’s secondary school in Newcastle upon Tyne. During my tenure as a parent governor, I was also part of the Education Committee.
